Chennai Rains Impact Vettaiyan Shows in Tamil Nadu: Superstar Rajinikanth's latest action entertainer Vettaiyan marks his first and epic collaboration with filmmaker T.J. Gnanavel. Vettaiyan Synopsis

Athiyan (Rajinikanth) is a strict cop who goes beyond the law to safeguard justice. He is known as an encounter specialist. He becomes interested in a school teacher Sharanya (Dushara Vijayan) who also cannot stand injustice and tries to expose a dangerous scam involving students. Sharanya gets brutally killed and the wrong person is encountered by Athiyan. How Athiyan finds out the truth and reason behind Sharanya's death is the crux of Vettaiyan.
