Dhanush Gets A Red Card From Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC)? Everything You Need To Know About The Issue
TFPC Issues Guidelines On Working With Dhanush: In the latest turn of events, Dhanush, who is enjoying the success and appreciation pouring in from all over the world for his directorial 'Raayan,' has hit the headlines with rather distasteful news, disappointing his fans.
Reportedly, the 'Vaathi' star, a talent powerhouse, was issued a red card by the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) on July 30 regarding the council's norms and the complaints that pointed out Dhanush. The council's decision to issue a red card is opposed by the Nadigar Sangam.
At a meeting held on July 29 in Chennai, the TFPC discussed filmmaking budgets, remunerations of the actors and technicians; and decided to halt new shootings from August 15. They want to zero in on crucial decisions and chalk out some guidelines. In the same meeting, they also announced a ban on Dhanush for not showing up to the shootings after taking advance payments from production houses.
Nadigar Sangam Demands A Joint Meeting
After the news surfaced online, Nadigar Sangam condemned the decision of TFPC and sought an amicable joint discussion among both parties to settle scores. Actors Karthi, Karunas, and Poochi Murugan spoke to the media about the issue and clarified that TFPC did not approach them before taking this decision. It is a practice that TFPC and Nadigar Sangam mutually consult and decide on the issues but in the case of Dhanush, it didn't happen.
In addition, Nadigar Sangam also demanded a joint meeting of all the Tamil film associations to take the matter further. On the other hand, the TFPC also demanded that there shall not be any shootings after August 15 and all the ongoing work should be wrapped by November 1. The association also passed a strict rule that all the star hero films should arrive on the OTT platforms only after eight weeks post-release.
