GOAT Star Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam Officially Registered By Election Commission

Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam Officially Registered By Election Commission: Tamil cinema superstar Vijay, known widely as Thalapathy Vijay, has announced a significant milestone for his political venture, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). On Sunday, Vijay revealed that the Election Commission of India (ECI) has officially registered his party, granting it the necessary permission to participate in electoral politics.
In a letter posted on X (formerly Twitter), Vijay shared the news with his followers, detailing that Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam had applied for registration in February this year. The ECI's approval marks a pivotal step for the actor-turned-politician, who has long championed the foundational doctrine of "Pirappokkum ella uyirkkum" (all beings are equal by birth). Vijay described this approval as a celebration of his party's core principles and expressed his enthusiasm about the official registration.
Vijay's announcement highlighted the extensive wait for legal validation and the preparations now underway. "Approaching politics with the foundational doctrine of 'Pirappokkum ella uyirkkum' is, in itself, a celebration of our principle. However, we have been waiting for complete celebration and legal registration as a political party. Now, that permission has been granted," Vijay stated.
Vijay Announces Next Steps For Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam
The TVK leader emphasized that the registration marks the first step towards achieving political victory. He also revealed that preparations for the party's policy declaration and the first state conference are currently underway. Vijay urged supporters to stay tuned for further official announcements about these events.
Vijay, who announced the formation of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam on February 2, has previously indicated his intention to contest in the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly elections, opting out of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. On August 22, he unveiled the party's flag and symbol, which features a two-colored maroon and yellow design with elephants on either side and a Vaagai flower surrounded by stars at the center. The flag was hoisted at the Panaiyur party office, accompanied by the release of an official party song.
In his statement, Vijay promised to work diligently for the welfare of Tamil Nadu. "Tamil Nadu will be better from now on. Victory is sure," he declared, reflecting his commitment to the state and his confidence in the party's future success.
