In a viral video, apparently from 2013, GV Prakash and Saindhavi could be seen giving an interview where the former revealed that their relationship started in December, 2001. Saindhavi confirmed the statement and revealed that she was in 8th standard while GV Prakash was in 10th standard when their love blossomed. Saindhavi further revealed that they used to like each other very much, however, very hesitant to tell the same thinking that their friendship might get spoiled if they confess their love for each other.

After that, GV Prakash said that they were good friends, however, he somehow sensed that Saindhavi has a liking towards him. But still, he didn't have that courage to tell her. Anyway, fate had different plans, and after some point they had to confess their feelings for each other. Saindhavi took the conversation forward after that, and revealed that they were friends for a few months and always wondered what it would be like if the other person proposed first.
