Indian 2 Box Office Collection Prediction Day 9: Shankar and Kamal Haasan have joined hands to bring a sequel to the epic Kollywood industry hit 'Indian.' The vigilante action drama which was released in 1996 earned a whopping Rs 60 Crore when it hit the screens, against a budget of Rs 8 Crore. The legendary director and actor collaborated after 28 years for 'Indian 2.' The movie which underwent several production delays and postponements finally was released on July 12.

After the theatrical release in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 met with severe criticism and negative response from the fans, movie lovers as well as the critics. In the sequel, Shankar also roped in other notable actors like Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Kajal Aggarwal, etc. Due to an outdated issue and the lack of interesting narration, Indian 2 remained as one of the biggest disappointments. This action film sequel stars Kamal Haasan as Veerasekaran Senapathy aka Indian. In addition, the movie stars S.J. Suryah, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, Siddharth, Nedumudi Venu as Krishnaswamy IPS, Kalidas Jayaram, Gulshan Grover, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, Brahmanandam, Zakir Hussain, Piyush Mishra, Guru Somasundaram, Delhi Ganesh, Shivaji Guruvayoor, Deepa Shankar, Anant Mahadevan, George Maryan, Vinod Sagar, Akhilendra Mishra, and Benedict Garrett among others in key roles for various versions. Late Vivek, G Marimuthu, and Manobala will be part of the film as the makers wanted to leave their portions intact.

Written and directed by S Shankar, the sequel titled Indian 2 is being helmed by Subaskaran Allirajah and Udhayanidhi Stalin under their Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies banners on an approximate budget of Rs 250 Crore. Ravi Varma is cranking the camera and A. Sreekar Prasad is the film's editor. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the film's entire background score and music.
