Indian 2 Arriving Early on OTT Platform: Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan's one of the highly anticipated films is 'Indian 2,' written and directed by Shankar Shanmugam. It is a sequel to the 1996 release 'Indian' movie and the sequel which hit the screen after 28 years was rejected by the fans, audiences, and critics unanimously. The movie was released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi on July 12 and is a box office disaster.

The movie which stars a plethora of notable actors including Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, and Kajal Aggarwal among others has its score and music by none other than Anirudh Ravichander, marking the musician's first collaboration with Shankar.

Indian 2 Synopsis

Senapathy, a freedom fighter-turned-vigilante is living in Taipei, Hong Kong. Back in India, a few youngsters who are inspired by Senapathy's legacy fight against corruption by making videos of the corrupt leaders and exposing them online under the leadership of Chitra Aravindhan (Siddharth). Senapathy comes to know about the unprecedented and overpowered corruption that is ruling the country and decides to return to India.

Indian 2 Arriving Early On Netflix

Reportedly, the movie which was rebuffed by the critics and fans is now going to make an early debut on the streaming giant Netflix. The digital rights agreement is now going to be revised to make the movie available early on the platform due to its underwhelming performance at the box office. If things go as per plans, Kamal Haasan, Shankar's Indian 2 might end up on the streaming platform Netflix by August 2. There is no official confirmation of the same, however.

Indian 2 Cast

This vigilante action film sequel stars Kamal Haasan as Veerasekaran Senapathy aka Indian. In addition, the movie stars S.J. Suryah, Kajal Aggarwal, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, Siddharth, Nedumudi Venu as Krishnaswamy IPS, Kalidas Jayaram, Gulshan Grover, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, Brahmanandam, Zakir Hussain, Piyush Mishra, Guru Somasundaram, Delhi Ganesh, Shivaji Guruvayoor, Deepa Shankar, Anant Mahadevan, George Maryan, Vinod Sagar, Akhilendra Mishra, and Benedict Garrett among others in key roles for various versions. Late Vivek, G Marimuthu, and Manobala will be part of the film as the makers wanted to leave their portions intact.

Written and directed by S Shankar, the sequel titled Indian 2 is being helmed by Subaskaran Allirajah and Udhayanidhi Stalin under their Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies banners on an approximate budget of Rs 250 Crore. Ravi Varma is cranking the camera and A. Sreekar Prasad is the film's editor. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the film's entire background score and music.
