Indian 2 OTT Release Lands In Trouble: Indian 2, the sequel to Indian (1996) came after 28 years marking the epic collaboration of Shankar and Kamal Haasan. The movie which stars a plethora of notable actors was released amid high expectations on July 12. After the release, Indian 2 earned negative-to-mixed reactions from the three languages it hit the screens (Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi).

The movie also marks the combination of Anirudh Ravichander and Shankar as AR Rahman was busy at that time. The movie's OTT release is expected to happen this week but it looks like Indian 2 landed in trouble.

Netflix Seeks Refund In Amount For OTT Rights?
The digital streaming rights of Indian 2 are secured by Netflix for a whopping Rs 150 Crore (all languages). The makers of the film reportedly got an advance of Rs 75 Crore and owing to the disastrous response it faced at the box office, the heads at Netflix have said to have asked for a refund in the advance they spent on the agreement, reportedly. The movie was rumoured to be making its OTT debut on August 2 but due to the financial issues, the movie might not arrive on the digital streaming platform anytime soon.

Indian 2 Synopsis
Senapathy, a freedom fighter-turned-vigilante is living in Taipei, Hong Kong. Back in India, a few youngsters who are inspired by Senapathy's legacy fight against corruption by making videos of the corrupt leaders and exposing them online under the leadership of Chitra Aravindhan (Siddharth). Senapathy comes to know about the unprecedented and overpowered corruption that is ruling the country and decides to return to India.

Indian 2 Cast
This vigilante action film sequel stars Kamal Haasan as Veerasekaran Senapathy aka Indian. In addition, the movie stars S.J. Suryah, Kajal Aggarwal, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, Siddharth, Nedumudi Venu as Krishnaswamy IPS, Kalidas Jayaram, Gulshan Grover, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, Brahmanandam, Zakir Hussain, Piyush Mishra, Guru Somasundaram, Delhi Ganesh, Shivaji Guruvayoor, Deepa Shankar, Anant Mahadevan, George Maryan, Vinod Sagar, Akhilendra Mishra, and Benedict Garrett among others in key roles for various versions. Late Vivek, G Marimuthu, and Manobala will be part of the film as the makers wanted to leave their portions intact.

Written and directed by S Shankar, the sequel titled Indian 2 is being helmed by Subaskaran Allirajah and Udhayanidhi Stalin under their Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies banners on an approximate budget of Rs 250 Crore. Ravi Varma is cranking the camera and A. Sreekar Prasad is the film's editor. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the film's entire background score and music.
