Kanguva, initially announced in April 2019, faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic and scheduling conflicts before production resumed in August 2022. Filming spanned 17 months, capturing breathtaking locations like Chennai, Goa, Kerala, Kodaikanal, and Rajahmundry, and wrapped up in January 2024. With a production budget estimated between ₹300 and ₹350 crore, it ranks among the most expensive films in Indian cinema.
