Ahead of the big release, there has been a significant buzz around the release trailer update for which the movie has been making headlines. After the same was dropped on November 10 at around 9 pm, the movie set another record for the fans to rejoice.

The release trailer cross 4 million views in an hour after the video was dropped. Within 59 minutes of the launch, the total viewers of the release trailer stands at 4.17 million to be precise. The intriguing trailer showcases the powerful connection between present and past and how events are interconnected with each other. The bloodshed, intense fight, and a soulful music are what intensified everything in the trailer. The video was shared on Twitter with a caption, "Written in ink and blood, the past and present shall collide."

Earlier in his interview, Suriya expressed how he thinks that the movie will shape the future of Tamil Cinema, "Right from the narration day, we knew we were entering a different world. Of course, we've seen Baahubali, RRR, and Kalki, but for Tamil, Kanguva would be that one big first step," he said.
