The film stars Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the lead roles, on the other hand, Rajinikanth appears in a pivotal role. The recent report by Tamil movie specialist Christopher Kanagraj stated that the entire thing on the release of Lal Salaam on OTT is not true. Taking to his Twitter account, he wrote, "#LalSalaam ott news is not True!!!"

However, recent reports suggested that the movie will be made available on Netflix and Sun NXT in December itself.

The film was officially announced in November, 2022. While Aishwarya Rajinikanth took the director's chair after almost a decade, A.R. Rahman has given the music for the film. Despite the powerful presence of the megastar Rajinikanth, the movie became a box office dud, which later caused a delay in the OTT release.
