Produced by Jagadish Palanisamy and Sudhan Sundaram under the banners of Passion Studio and The Route, 'Maharaja' revolves around the story of a barber (played by Vijay Sethupathi) who seeks vengeance after his home is burglarized. He cryptically informs the police that his "lakshmi" has been stolen, leaving them confused if it's a person or an object. The narrative tracks his determined journey to recover the enigmatic "lakshmi."

The latest Tamil flick boasts an interest ensemble including Anurag Kashyap as Sekvam. Maharaja also features Mamta Mohandas, Natarajan Subhramaniam, Abhirami, Aruldoss, Munishkanth, Manikandan and Singampuli in important roles.

Maharaja Box Office Collection Day 2 Report

The Vijay Sethupathi starrer had kickstarted its theatrical journey on a solid note. The film collected Rs 4.7 crores on its opening day, becoming the third biggest opener of Kollywood in 2024 after Dhanush's 'Captain Miller' and Tamannaah Bhatia-Raashii Khanna starrer 'Aranmanai 4'.

According to the latest report published by Sacnilk, Maharaja saw a noticeable jump on Saturday. As the report suggests, the film raked in Rs 7.25 cr (early estimates) on its first Saturday, taking the total estimated collection to Rs 11.95 crores (rough data) in 2 days.
