Maharaja Synopsis

Maharaja follows a barber in Chennai whose life is torn apart when a truck crashes into his house, killing his wife and leaving his daughter, Jothi, severely injured. Years later, Maharaja seeks justice for a stolen dustbin, uncovering a dark past involving criminals, revenge, and a tragic family secret.

Maharaja Production, Cast, and Crew

Officially announced in February 2023 under the working title VJS50, Maharaja began principal photography that same month, predominantly shot in Chennai. The film wrapped production by July 2023, with Think Studios joining as a co-producer. The final title was revealed in July, alongside the completion of filming. B. Ajaneesh Loknath composed the music, with Dinesh Purushothaman handling cinematography and Philomin Raj editing.

The cast of Maharaja features a stellar ensemble led by Vijay Sethupathi as Maharaja, with Anurag Kashyap portraying Selvam and Mamta Mohandas as Aasifa.
