Written and directed by Nithilan Swaminathan, the movie has a unique premise and the theatrical trailer was released recently in both Tamil and Telugu.

Vijay Sethupathi's 50th film features Anurag Kashyap, and Mamta Mohandas in the lead roles; has its music by B Ajaneesh Loknath. The movie is now ready to hit the screens this June.

Maharaja showcases Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi as a barber. He embarks on a mission to avenge his house burglary, where he gets robbed of his 'Lakshmi.' He troubles police with a noncoherent description of Lakshmi as they try to figure out if Lakshmi is an object, asset, or a human. Who is Lakshmi? is all about the movie's crux.
