Meiyazhagan Box Office Collection Day 4 (Early Updates): Karthi, who is one of the most talked about actors in Tamil Cinema, is now making headlines for his recent release. We are talking about Meiyazhagan which is helmed by C Prem Kumar. The film featured Karthi in the titular role along with Arvind Swamy, Rajkiran, Sri Divya, Swathi Konde, Devadarshini, Jayaprakash, Sriranjani, Ilavarasu, Karunakaran and Saran Shakthi.

Interestingly, the movie revolves around Arunmozhi Varman (played by Arvind Swamy) who along with his family had to leave his hometown in Thanjavur's Needamangalam while he was a young boy. And now, after years, Arunmozhi returns to his hometown and then starts a bitter-sweet journey wherein he meets a relative whose innocence wins hearts. As Meiyazhagan managed to create a massive buzz in the town, it opened to decent reviews from the audience.

Meiyazhagan Opening Weekend Box Office Collection

Interestingly, Meiyazhagan witnessed a decent start at the box office with an opening day collection of Rs 3.1 crores. The movie saw a decent jump in numbers during the opening weekend wherein it raked in Rs 5.3 crores on day 2 (first Saturday) and Rs 5.65 crores on day 3 (first Sunday) taking the overall collections of the film to Rs 14.05 crores.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Meiyazhagan saw a massive drop in number today (day 4/ first Monday). The movie has raked in Rs 1.17 crores so far and took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 15.22 crores.

Meanwhile, Nagarjuna Akkineni has sung praises for Arvind and Karthi's performance in Meiyazhagan. Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, the legendary actor wrote, "Dear brother Karthi, I saw your film #SatyamSundaram last night!! You and Arvind ji were just too too good... I had a smile throughout watching you and went to sleep with the same smile... Brought back so many childhood memories... and also memories of our film #oopiri. I'm so happy that people and the critics are appreciating such heart warming, Films!! kudos to the entire team!!!"
