Meiyazhagan Box Office Collection Day 9: Karthi threw a surprise with C. Prem Kumar's 'Meiyazhagan,' a movie which touched many who watched it with its heartfelt story and emotions. The movie which stars Arvind Swami in a key role along with Karthi was theatrically released on September 27 in Tamil all over the world.

Upon its theatrical release, Karthi's Meiyazhagan, which was dubbed in Telugu as 'Sathyam Sundaram,' earned immense applause and critical acclaim for all the crafts and technical brilliance put in to make the movie. Meiyazhagan Synopsis

The movie is set in 1996. Arunmozhi Varman (Arvind Swami) was forced to leave his family house in Thanjavur along with his parents owing to a few problems. After 20 years, Arun returns to Guntur to attend his cousin's wedding and meets Meiyazhagan (Karthi). Eventually, he strikes a chord with Meiyazhagan but can't recognize who Sundaram is. Sathyam returns to Vizag and tries to discover Sundaram's identity.
