Exclusive! Nithya Menen On Netizens Wanting Sai Pallavi To Also Win The National Award, "I Was Not The Jury"

Nithya Menen won the National Award this year for her amazing performance in the Tamil film Thiruchitrambalam. The movie also starred Dhanush in the lead role, and Nithya's fans were very happy that the actress won the National Award. However, a few people on social media felt that Sai Pallavi also deserved the National Award for Gargi.

Filmibeat recently interacted with Nithya, and we told her that while everyone was happy that she won the National Award, there were a few people on social media who felt that even Sai Pallavi deserved it.

When asked her what she would like to say about it, Nithya said, "I think everyone deserves it! It was like this year, this person got it; there's always a chance next year. We can get multiple awards; there's enough space for everyone. I was not the jury (smiles). I did meet a few people from the jury. After the ceremony was over, a few people came and introduced themselves, and they all told me that they were always following all of my work, and they had been fond of everything that I have done."

"So, like I said, it is not just one film, it is the 10-15 years of work that was being appreciated, and people should understand that. The many years of work, and what you have contributed to the industry was being appreciated. We have a billion people and a billion opinions. For me, it is like if 99% are saying it came too late and we are so happy that you got it, so I rather look at that and celebrate that," she added.

Nithya made her acting debut with the Kannada film 7 O' Clock in 2006. She has been a part of many successful films down South like Urumi, S/O Satyamurthy, O Kadhal Kanmani, Rudhramadevi, Mersal, and more. The actress also made her Hindi debut with the multi-starrer Mission Mangal, and was seen in the Amazon Prime's Breathe: Into the Shadows.

The actress has a list of interesting films lined up like Kadhalikka Neramillai, Dear Exes, and Idly Kadai. In Idly Kadai, she once again teams up with her Thiruchitrambalam co-star Dhanush, and the movie is also being directed him.
