For the Republic Day long weekend, not one but two exciting Tamil films hit the screens worldwide. RJ Balaji, Meenakshi Chaudhary, & Sathyaraj-starrer Singapore Saloon along with Ashok Selvan's sports drama Blue Star were released on January 25. Both these films have been getting a decent response after the theatrical release.

Singapore Saloon was written and directed by Gokul. The movie is the story of a young hairstylist who dreams very big. The movie has an emotional narration with a comedy underline.

On the other hand, Blue Star is the movie featuring the newlywed Kollywood couple Ashok Selvan and Keerthi Pandian. The movie demonstrates the rivalry and competition between the Cricket captains of Arakkonam, Ranjith and Rajesh. When politics interfere, they have a difficult path to tread to achieve their dreams.
