Sorgavaasal Premise

A common man entangled in a corrupt system lands in prison, confronting a profound question: do prisons reform individuals, or do they push them deeper into a cycle of crime? The title Sorgavaasal draws inspiration from the 1954 classic of the same name, penned by former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. N. Annadurai.

Director Lokesh Kanagaraj, who launched the Sorgavaasal trailer alongside composer Anirudh Ravichander, was influenced by its powerful jail sequences, leading him to rework the script for his upcoming film Kaithi 2 after attending a special screening of Sorgavaasal.
