Sorgavaasal Premise

A common man caught in a corrupt system finds himself in prison, grappling with a compelling question: Do prisons rehabilitate people or entrench them deeper in a cycle of crime? The title Sorgavaasal pays homage to the 1954 classic of the same name, written by former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. N. Annadurai.

Director Lokesh Kanagaraj, who unveiled the Sorgavaasal trailer alongside composer Anirudh Ravichander, drew inspiration from its impactful prison sequences. This led him to reimagine the script for his upcoming film, Kaithi 2, after attending a special screening of the classic.

Sorgavaasal Cast and Crew
