Kavin's Star Box Office Collection Day 4: Kavin's latest movie, a romantic drama featuring Lal and Aaditi Pohankar in the key roles is written and directed by Elan. The movie hit the screens amid decent expectations on May 10.

'Star' movie marks the second collaboration of Kavin and Elan, who first worked together for a successful film titled 'Dada.'

The movie surrounds the youngster Kalai born in a lower-middle class family. Kalai dreams big of becoming not just an actor but a star in the Tamil film industry. But, the path is filled with embarrassments, challenges, and obstacles.

Kavin aka Kavin Raj became popular for his talent in Kollywood and the Tamil entertainment industry. He played crucial roles in star-studded A-lister films which gave him a solid platform as an actor. After turning the protagonist, Kavin's films were met with enthusiasm and love. His latest film 'Star' is also getting critical reviews, by making it one of the biggest releases of the week. Star movie's opening day collections were remarkable as it earned more than Rs 2.5 Crore on the first day in India.

At first, the project was announced with Harish Kalyan as the lead but he was soon replaced with Kavin. The movie was extensively shot in Chennai and has about 10 songs in the movie including bit and background songs. The music of the film received good response.

The movie stars Kavin as Kalai, Lal as Kalai's father, Aaditi Pohankar as Jimikky, Preity Mukhudhan as Meera Malaikodi, and Geetha Kailasam as Kalai's mother among others in key roles.

Written and directed by Elan, the movie Star was produced by BVSN Prasad and Sreenidhi Sagar under the Rise East Entertainment and Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra banners. Ezhil Arasu K worked as the film's cinematography and Pradeep E. Ragav worked as the editor. Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the film's entire background score and tunes.
