Suriya To Float Political Party Like Thalapathy Vijay? Actor To Join League of Tamil Actors Turned Politicians
Suriya To Make His Political Debut Like Thalapathy Vijay? Suriya To Enter Politics And Float A Party? National Award-winning actor-producer Suriya, who is now busy with two exciting back-to-back films- Kanguva and Suriya 44, is back in the headlines for a rather surprising news. The actor is reportedly rumoured to have inclined toward politics.
Suriya, who is riding high on the success of his recent releases, which includes the streak from Soorarai Pottru to Jai Bheem, has thrilled his fans with the exciting first-look reveal of Suriya 44, made by Karthik Subbaraj. The 48-year-old actor is now going to be joining the renowned list of Tamil actors who turned to politics starting from the legendary late MGR to Jayalalitha, Karunanidhi, Vijaykanth, to Udhayanidhi Stalin, and the latest, Thalapathy Vijay.
Remarkably, both Udhayanidhi Stalin and Vijay have shied away from being in politics and openly denied interest in the field. However, Udhayanidhi is now the minister taking forward his family's political legacy by putting an end to his acting career while Vijay also officially announced his retirement from films to become politically active.
Suriya, who has been socially active through his Agaram Foundation, has been doing good work for the education and empowerment of children in Tamil Nadu. In the latest development, the actor reportedly developed an interest in politics. After learning that there needs to be representation in the panchayat election to strengthen the rural areas, Suriya's fan clubs have been seeking permission. The actor is reportedly discussing the idea with his near and dear if he can allow his fan clubs to contest with his backing. There is, however, no official announcement of the same.
Thalapathy Vijay, amid high expectations and anticipation finally revealed the name of his political party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) on February 2, 2024. He openly announced that he and his party leaders would contest in the upcoming elections from Tamil Nadu and the Union Territory of Pondicherry.
Suriya's Workfront
Kanguva by Siruthai Siva is awaiting the grand worldwide release while Suriya 44 by Karthik Subbaraj will feature Pooja Hegde, Jayaram, Joju George, and Karunakaran among others.
The actor is said to have been playing a cameo in the Hindi remake of his successful award-winning film Soorarai Pottru titled 'Sarfira' featuring Akshay Kumar in the lead. In addition, Meiyazhagan, produced by Suriya starring Karthi, is also in the production phase.
Thalapathy Vijay's Workfront
The actor, who joined forces with Venkat Prabhu for 'The Greatest Of All Time (GOAT),' will be next seen in Thalapathy 69, which will be his last film. DVV Danayya of the DVV Entertainment banner that produced RRR movie is funding the project and H Vinoth is said to be the director. An official announcement is awaited.
