Kasthuri Shankar Absconding: Actress Applies For Anticipatory Bail As TN Police Deploy Two Teams To Track Her

Two Special Teams To Nab Kasthuri: Following her hurtful comments on Telugu people and the Dravidians, actress Kasthuri, fled the city and her home is now absconding. Tamil Nadu police deployed two special force teams to track and arrest her.

At a demonstration that was held at Egmore, Chennai on November 3, actress Kasthuri, took part and spoke in a defaming manner about Dravidians and how Telugu people have become settlers in Tamil Nadu. Her entire speech didn't sit well with certain communities who went ahead and filed complaints with the police.

Kasthuri Applies For Anticipatory Bail

After realizing her mistake, Kasthuri, the 50-year-old, who is not a new person to controversies, regretted her speech and apologized through her social media handles. However, she earned the wrath of the communities and a group of organizations. Several cases were booked on her in various regions. Reportedly, the actress who is currently working in the Telugu entertainment industry, sought an anticipatory bail from Maduraiklai High Court, in the latest update.

Police registered a case on Kasthuri under six sections by the Madhurai Thirunagar Naidu Magajan Sangam. In the bail petition, it was mentioned that even after Kasthuri regretted her comments made on the Telugu community people and still a case was registered against me with hidden political motives. I am bound by all the conditions imposed by the court in this case. Therefore, I should be granted bail before the police arrest me in this case. Meanwhile, the police are continuing to look for Kasthuri.

On the other hand, Kasthuri had begun her second innings in the small-screen entertainment industry with Telugu productions. She earned a huge market and image for her portrayal of a homely woman in the serial 'Gruha Lakshmi,' which made her innings a successful one. She is also part of several Telugu shows as a Judge.
