Well, we are talking about Saravanan Sivakumar aka Suriya. His father Sivakumar is a well-known name in the Tamil film and Television industry. From working as a trainee in a factory to becoming a National Award-winning actor... Suriya's popularity knows no bounds.

After completing his studies, Suriya started working his professional journey as a trainee at a garment factory with a monthly salary of Rs 1,200. Talking to Pinkvilla, the actor stated, "They were not aware that I was an actor's son. My monthly salary was then Rs 1,200. I worked for nearly three years. By this time, my salary had been raised to Rs 8,000."

The Jai Bhim further recalled how he ended up joining the film industry to clear his mother's Rs 25,000 loan which she took without his father's knowledge. "Mom said that our bank balance had never been more than one lakh or one and a half lakh, and Dad never insisted on his salary; he would just wait for it to come when it did. At that time, Dad hadn't worked continuously for more than six months or ten months," he recalled.

He further added, "When I saw my mom struggling to pay that amount, it hit me hard. I thought to myself, 'What am I doing?'"

Kanguva marks highest-opening film of Suriya's career. As per Sacnilk, the pan-India biggie raked in around Rs 24 cr on the day of its release. Amid criticism, the movie has collected around Rs 56.75 cr (nett) in 5 days.
