Thangalaan Completes Censor Formalities Ahead of Release: Chiyaan Vikram's highly-awaited periodic action thriller titled Thangalaan, co-written and directed by Pa. Ranjith is gearing up for a grand worldwide theatrical release on August 15. Fans of the versatile actor are very excited about the film as it showcased yet another mind-blowing transformation and terrific performance of Vikram.

Hoping Thangalaan would deliver under the directorship of Pa. Ranjith, the makers of the film have amplified the promotional activities ahead of the release. The movie is going to hit the screens in Tamil and Telugu in which Vikram will be seen revolting against the system for their land and people.

Thangalaan's theatrical trailer, the first song 'Minikki Minikki' has successfully generated great buzz for the film and fans are fingers-crossed for its success. Meanwhile, the movie completed its censor formalities and received a clean U/A certificate.

Thangalaan was extensively shot in Chennai, Andhra Pradesh, Madurai, and Karnataka. Vikram underwent a near-impossible transformation for playing the title role in the film for the story co-written by Pa. Ranjith, Tamil Prabha, and Azhagiya Periyavan. Thangalaan Synopsis

Thangalaan (Vikram) is a tribal leader in India ruled by the British Raj. He embarks on a valiant fight against the system and the British after they conspire to loot his land for mining gold.

Ahead of the release, the makers of Thangalaan also signed a deal with Netflix India for the five-language digital streaming rights of Vikram-Pa Ranjith's film. The OTT giant shelled out a whopping to secure the rights. The movie will be available on the platform post-theatrical run.

Thangalaan Cast
The movie stars Vikram in the titular role as Thangalaan. Parvathy Thiruvothu as Gangammal, Malavika Mohanan as Aarathi, Pasupathy, Daniel Caltagirone, Harikrishnan Anbudurai, Vettai Muthukumar, and Arjun Anbudan among others are playing key roles.

Made on a budget of about Rs 150 Crore, Vikram's Thangalaan was produced by K.E. Gnanvel Raja, Pa. Ranjith, and Jyoti Deshpande under the Studio Green, Neelam Productions, and Jio Studios banners. G.V. Prakash Kumar composed the film's entire music and sound. Selva R.K. worked as the editor and A. Kishor Kumar worked as the cinematographer.
