Thangalaan OTT Release: Thangalaan, a Tamil action-adventure film directed by Pa. Ranjith, promises a gripping narrative set during the British Raj. Thangalaan was released worldwide in theaters on August 15, 2024, coinciding with India's Independence Day, in both standard and 3D formats. After its theatrical run and much anticipation, the film made its digital debut on Netflix on December 10, 2024, as a surprise release. Viewers can now stream Thangalaan on Netflix in its original Tamil version, along with dubbed versions in Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Thangalaan Premise

Set in 1850, the story revolves around Veppur village chief Thangalaan, who battles oppressive landlords, British greed, and mystical forces to restore his community's dignity. Haunted by ancestral ties to a sorceress named Aarathi, he endures personal loss and discovers gold, a symbol of hope. Through resilience and sacrifice, Thangalaan inspires his people to rise against exploitation and reclaim their heritage.

Thangalaan Cast and Crew

The cast of Thangalaan features Vikram in five distinct roles as Thangalaan Muni, Kaadaiyan, Arasan "Aaran," Adhi Muni, and Naga Muni. Pasupathy portrays Gengupattar, Parvathy Thiruvothu plays Gengammal, and Malavika Mohanan takes on the role of Aarathi. Daniel Caltagirone appears as Lord Clement, Anandsami as Kailasam, Vettai Muthukumar as the pannaiyar, Hari Krishnan as Varadhan, Lockup Chandrakumar as Muniyan, and Arjun Prabhakaran as Asokan. Supporting roles include Krish Hassan as Gengupattar's son, Preeti Karan as Arasani, Poorva Dharani as Gunavathy, Ben as Arthur, Ishaan as William, and Sampath Ram as Kaadaiyan's aide.

Thangalaan was directed by Pa. Ranjith, with a screenplay by Azhagiya Periyavan, Tamil Prabha, and Pa. Ranjith, based on the Kolar Gold Fields. Produced by K. E.
