Thangalaan: Vikram Talks About Sequel To Pa. Ranjith's Period Thriller; Says 'We Can Make Four Parts But...'
Chiyaan Vikram Talks About Thangalaan Sequel: Vikram, the most versatile actors of the country, is actively promoting his upcoming film, a pre-independence era actioner titled 'Thangalaan.' Written and directed by Pa. Ranjith, the movie is going to hit the screens worldwide on August 15 in Tamil and Telugu.
Thangalaan was extensively shot in Chennai, Andhra Pradesh, Madurai, and Karnataka. Vikram underwent a near-impossible transformation for playing the title role in the film for the story co-written by Pa. Ranjith, Tamil Prabha, and Azhagiya Periyavan.
Thangalaan Synopsis
Thangalaan (Vikram) is a tribal leader in India ruled by the British raj. He embarks on a valiant fight against the system and the British after they conspire to loot his land for mining gold. On the other hand, the villagers earn the wrath of a sorcerer named Aarathi, as they set out to find gold. Thangalaan is the only one who takes responsibility to fight against Aarathi with all he has.
Sequel To Thangalaan
In a promotional event, Vikram reacted to a question about Thangalaan's sequel. He replied, "There is a scope to make a prequel or sequel. We will definitely make the next part. We can even make four parts, as many storylines are associated with it. I am not joking. The stories will be different for the upcoming films. The protagonist's look and costumes will differ for the other parts."

The movie stars Vikram as Thangalaan, Malavika Mohanan as Aarathi, Parvathy Thiruvothu as Gangamma, Pasupathy, Daniel Caltagirone as Clement, Hari Krishnan Anbudurai, Vettai Muthukumar, Krish Hassan, Arjun Anbudan, and Sampath Ram played key roles.
Thangalaan Crew
Made on a budget of about Rs 150 Crore, Vikram's Thangalaan was produced by K.E. Gnanvel Raja, Pa. Ranjith, and Jyoti Deshpande under the Studio Green, Neelam Productions, and Jio Studios banners. G.V Prakash Kumar composed the film's entire music and sound. Selva R.K worked as the editor and A. Kishor Kumar worked as the cinematographer.
