Vaaranam Aayiram Re-release Box Office Collection: Suriya's Cult Movie Opens In Karnataka Amid Huge Hype

Writer-director-actor Gautham Vasudev Menon's Vaaranam Aayiram (Tamil) starring Suriya is a movie that needs no special introduction. It was released way back in 2008 on November 14 and achieved cult status in the following years, and the album by Harris Jayaraj is an all-time favourite for music lovers worldwide.

Vaaranam Aayiram, which was dubbed in Telugu as Surya S/o Krishnan, was re-released a few months ago in the Telugu States to a thumping and unprecedented response. The movie was celebrated immensely at the theatres where it was re-released and the 'Kanguva' actor himself tweeted about the mind-bending reaction to the film's re-release recorded in the two states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The upgraded 4K version now after about 15 years is hitting the screens in Tamil in Karnataka, after a huge demand. On the release day in Karnataka, Suriya's movie is expected to make about Rs 75 Lakh on the first day of its weekend re-release mania.

The movie stars Suriya in a dual role, Sameera Reddy, Simran, Divya Spandana, Babloo Prithveeraj, Avishesh Karthik, Rajeevan, Ganesh, Sathish, Amitash, and Ajay among others in key roles.

This Gautham Vasudev Menon's film was produced by V Ravichandran under his Aascar Film Pvt. Ltd. R Rathnavelu cranked the camera and Anthony Gonsalvez worked as the editor. Harris Jayaraj composed the foot-tapping and lingering background score and music.
