Varalaxmi Sarathkumar's wedding was under the limelight earlier this month. While the actress is currently enjoying the marital bliss, her husband, Nicholai Sachdev's one statement has been garnering praises around the social media. The Mumbai Gallerist's recent statement has recieved immense praise as he broke the centuries-old patriarchal norms.

In a press conference on Monday, Varalaxmi's husband, Nicholai said how Varalaxmi wants to take his surname but he refused, "She [Varalaxmi] said that she wants to change her name after marriage. Of course, she'd never lose Sarathkumar in the middle, but she wanted to add Sachdev to her name. But, I will not have that," he said.

He later added, "She will always remain and retain her name as Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. I will be taking her name. I will be known as Nicholai Varalaxmi Sarathkumar Sachdev. And so will my daughter, so Sarathkumar and my wife Varalaxmi's legacy will live on forever. That's what I am going to do for my wife."

After which the actress shared a series of pictures of her wedding where she could be seen donning a traditional red saree while Nicholai was wearing traditional white attire.
