Vettaiyan Box Office Collection Day 18 (Early Updates): Megastar Rajinikanth's latest Tamil biggie 'Vettaiyan' has been having a decent run at the box office. Directed by T.J. Gnanavel and bankrolled by Subaskaran Allirajah under Lyca Productions, Vettaiyan had its much-anticipated grand theatrical premiere on October 10 in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada languages, but opened to decent response from the audience and critics alike.

Featuring Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil and Rana Daggubati among others, Vettaiyan has been struggling to leave a mark at the box office. As per Sacnilk, the Tamil-language action-drama ended its first week of theatrical run on an adequate note of Rs 118.95 cr (including all languages).

In week 2, the film witnessed a drastic drop in numbers and raked in around Rs 21.05 cr. Amid box office struggle, the Rajinikanth-starrer went on to see a slight hike in numbers and earned approx. R 1.3 cr yesterday (3rd Saturday, day 17). Now, the total nett collection (India) of Vettaiyan is estimated to be around Rs 143.5 cr in 17 days.

Despite the star-studded cast, Vettaiyan has been struggling to pull audiences to cinemas. Given the current buzz, the film is likely to maintain yesterday's pace today as well since today is Sunday. According to the latest Sacnilk report, the film has managed to earn roughly Rs 0.7 cr on Sunday (day 18) till 5:15 pm IST.

Vettaiyan needs to earn around Rs 6-7 cr today to touch the Rs 150 cr mark at the box office in 3rd weekend, which appears to be impossible.
