Vettaiyan Box Office Collection Day 2 (Early Updates): Rajinikanth starrer Vettaiyan has been one of the biggest releases of the year and it has been ruling the headlines ever since it was announced. This T. J. Gnanavel happens to be an action drama and marks Rajinikanth's first full fledged movie of the year. Also starring Amitabh Bachchan, Manju Warrier, Rana Duggubati, Fahadh Faasil, Abhirami, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, Rohini, Rao Ramesh and Ramesh Thilak, Vettaiyan has been one of the most anticipated releases of 2024.

Interestingly, Vettaiyan stars Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth in the roles of police officers. While the movie marks Amitabh Bachchan's debut in the Tamil industry, it also marks the legendary actor's reunion with Rajinikanth after over three decades. With a stellar cast and an impressive storyline, Vettaiyan has managed to grab a lot of eyeballs and even opened to rave reviews from the audience. Interestingly, while there were speculations that Vettaiyan might see a hike in numbers owing to Amitabh Bachchan's 82 birthday, the movie seems to have slowed down today. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Vettaiyan has managed to rake in Rs 12.8 crores on day 2 (first Friday) as of now (at 6:44PM) taking the overall collections of the movie to Rs 44.5 crores. While the collections from the evening and night shows are yet to come, Vettaiyan has been inching close to Rs 50 crores mark ahead of the first weekend.

Meanwhile, Vettaiyan is also witnessing a box office clash with Alia Bhatt's Jigra and Rajkummar Rao & Triptii Dimri's Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video in the Hindi market. So far, Vettaiyan is struggling at the box office in the Hindi market, it will be interesting to see if the movie will pace up during the opening weekend
