Vettaiyan Box Office Collection Day 4 (Early Updates): As the nation has been taken over the festive vibe of Dussehra, Rajinikanth came with a huge treat for his fans across the world. We are talking about his recent release Vettaiyan which happens to be his first release of the year. Helmed by T. J. Gnanavel, Vettaiyan is an action drama which also features Rana Daggubati, Amitabh Bachchan, Manju Warrier, Fahadh Faasil, Rao Ramesh, Abhirami, Ritika Singh, Rohini, Dushara Vijayan and Ramesh Thilak in key roles.

Vettaiyan has been one of the most talked about and anticipated releases of the year. The movie marks Rajinikanth's reunion with Amitabh Bachchan after three decades as the Kalki 2898 AD actor made his debut in the Tamil industry. Interestingly, Vettaiyan featured Rajinikanth and Amitabh in the roles of police officers while Rana Daggubati played the role of a menacing villain. Vettaiyan, which was released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada languages, made an opening day collection of Rs 31.7 crores. This was followed by a drop in numbers on day 2 wherein Vettaiyan minted Rs 24 crores. The first weekend came with a slight hike in numbers as Vettaiyan raked in Rs 26.75 crores which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 82.45 crores.

Interestingly, Vettaiyan is maintaining a decent hold at the box office on day 4 (first Sunday). According to a report published in Sacnilk, Vettaiyan has raked in Rs 14.95 crores so far today (at around 6:45 PM). While the total collection of the movie stands at Rs 97.4 crores, it is evident that Vettaiyan is set to cross Rs 100 crores mark today during the first weekend.

Meanwhile, Vettaiyan is also witnessing a box office clash with Alia Bhatt's Jigra and Rajkummar Rao & Triptii Dimri's Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video in the Hindi market. So far, Vettaiyan is struggling at the box office in the Hindi market, it will be interesting to see if the movie will pace up during the opening weekend
