Vettaiyan Box Office Day 1 Trade Expert Prediction: Rajinikanth fans have all the reasons to be on cloud nine these days. After all, the legendary megastar is coming with his first release of the year. We are talking about Vettaiyan which is an action drama and is helmed by T. J. Gnanavel. Interestingly, Vettaiyan also features Amitabh Bachchan in the lead and marks Big B's debut in the Tamil industry.

Also starring Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, Rohini, Rao Ramesh, Abhirami and Ramesh Thilak, Vettaiyan has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year. To note, Vettaiyan marks Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan's reunion after three decades and both the actors are seen playing police officer respectively. So far, the trailer has managed to create a massive buzz in the town and there have been speculations about how the movie will fare at the box office.

Vettaiyan Box Office Collection Opening Day

In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat, producer and film business expert Girish Johar stated that Vettaiyan is expected to have a grand start at the box office in India. He stated, "Down south, it's a big film, it's a mammoth film and has all the ingredients to make a blockbuster film". He also emphasised that Vettaiyan is expected to have a start of over Rs 70 crores in India all languages combined.

Vettaiyan To Beat Jailer, The Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) On Day 1

Interestingly, Vettaiyan has been witnessing frequent comparisons with Rajinikanth's last release Jailer and Thalapathy Vijay's The Greatest Of All Time (GOAT). However, if the reports turned out to be true, Vettaiyan is expected to beat Jailer and GOAT with a huge gap.

For the uninitiated, Jailer made an opening day collection of Rs 48.35 crores while The Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) raked in Rs 44 crores on its opening day.

Meanwhile, director Gnanavel called Vettaiyan an exciting venture and stated, "Doing a Rajini sir film is exciting and the addition of stars like Amitabh sir, Rana Daggubati and Fahadh Faasil, makes it more exciting. There's also the responsibility to justify their presence in the film and I believe we have done a good job at it".
