Vettaiyan Opening Day Box Office Collection Prediction: Will It Surpass Jailer's Collection? Superstar Rajinikanth's latest release, an action-thriller by T.J. Gnanavel titled 'Vettaiyan: The Hunter' is ready to arrive on the big screens worldwide on October 10 for the Dasara festival week. The movie stars an ensemble and renowned cast which raised the already soaring expectations over the top.

In this action drama, Rajinikanth will be seen playing a retired IPS, who goes against the system for justice. The movie's runtime was locked at a total of 163 minutes which is 2 hours and 43 minutes and was certified a clean U/A. The movie was made on a budget of Rs 160 Crore as Thalaivar 170, superstar Rajinikanth's 170th film.

Will Vettaiyan Surpass Jailer's Day 1 In India?

On the release day, Nelson's dark comedy-thriller starring Rajinikanth, Jailer, made a whopping Rs 48.35 Crore (Net) from its Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada versions alone in India. From Tamil, the movie made Rs 37.6 Crore and Rs 10.2 Crore from Telugu. The Kannada version made Rs 0.2 Crore.

On the other hand, Lal Salaam, directed by his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth made about Rs 3.55 Crore in India. The movie remained a commercially unsuccessful film after its release but Jailer movie was a trendsetter and an industry hit.

So far, the India bookings (2 days to go) touched Rs 8 Crore for Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan. The bookings are yet to open in many parts of TN and other states including some important shows. The movie is expected to surpass the opening day figures of Jailer and the positive talk will only amplify the impact at the box office.

The movie stars Rajinikanth as SP Ajith IPS, Amitabh Bachchan as Sathyadev (voice dubbed by Prakash Raj), Fahadh Faasil as Patrick, Rana Daggubati as Natraj, Manju Warrier as Thara, Ritika Singh as ASI Roopa, Dushara Vijayan as Saranya, Rohini as Nazeema, Rao Ramesh as DGP D. Shrinivas, Ramesh Thilak, Kishore as SP Harish Kumar, Rakshan, G.M. Sundar, Sabumon Abdusamad, Abhirami as Swetha, and Shaji Chen as Police Commissioner. Anirudh Ravichander appeared as himself in a cameo in the super hit song 'Manasilaayo.'
