3 BHK Box Office Collection Day 3: Siddharth And Sarath Kumar Movie Sees Steady Growth Over Opening Weekend

3BHK Box Office Collection: 3BHK, the Tamil coming-of-age drama directed by Sri Ganesh, has completed its first weekend in theaters with a total domestic net collection of approximately ₹5.17 crore, according to early estimates from box office tracking platform Sacnilk. Released on July 4, the film has seen a gradual rise in earnings over its first three days, driven largely by positive word-of-mouth and favorable reviews.
The film opened on Friday with ₹1.15 crore, with the Tamil version contributing ₹1 crore and the Telugu dubbed version bringing in the remaining ₹15 lakh. Saturday saw a significant 65% jump in collections, with earnings reaching ₹1.9 crore (₹1.65 crore in Tamil and ₹25 lakh in Telugu). The upward trend continued on Sunday, with the film collecting an estimated ₹2.12 crore (₹1.79 crore from Tamil and ₹33 lakh from Telugu), marking an 11.58% increase from the previous day.
3BHK Follows a Family's Pursuit of a City Home
3BHK is centered on the aspirations of Prabhu and his family, who dream of owning a home in the city. The narrative follows their journey as they confront setbacks, personal losses, and societal pressures in their pursuit of that dream. Siddharth plays the role of Prabhu, while veteran actor R. Sarathkumar appears as Vasudevan, his father. Devayani portrays Shanthi, the family matriarch. Meetha Raghunath and Yogi Babu play key supporting roles, along with Chaithra J. Achar, who makes her Tamil debut.
Based on the short story 3BHK Veedu by Aravindh Sachidanandam, the film marks the first collaboration between Siddharth and director Sri Ganesh, known for 8 Thottakkal and Kuruthi Aattam. The project also brings back Sarathkumar and Devayani on screen together after more than two decades.
The film's production began in July 2024 in Chennai and wrapped in March this year. It is backed by Arun Viswa under the Shanti Talkies banner. The technical team includes cinematographers Dinesh Krishnan B and Jithin Stanislaus, editor Ganesh Siva, and music composer Amrit Ramnath.
With its family-oriented themes, 3BHK appears to have struck a chord with a section of the audience. The coming days will determine whether the film can maintain its momentum and perform steadily during the weekdays.
