According to a tweet, shared by columnist and trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan, 53-year-old Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar has been admitted to the Apollo Hospital in the Thousand Lamps area, Chennai.

The news came a day after Ajith Kumar received the esteemed Padma Bhushan award, India's third-highest civilian honour, from Draupadi Murmu, the President of India, at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.

According to an Asianet report, the Padma Bhushan awardee is also being given physiotherapy as he recently faced injuries during a car race.

However, the latest India Today report claims the real reason behind Ajith Kumar's hospital visit is a leg injury. A source claimed that the actor suffered a minor leg injury at the Chennai airport on Tuesday (April 29) while he was returning from New Delhi with his family members.

The source informed the portal, "Ajith Kumar sir suffered a small injury in his leg when he was mobbed by a huge crowd at the Chennai airport. Hence, he had to be admitted for physiotherapy. The actor is likely to be discharged this evening. There's nothing to worry about his health. (sic)"
