Actor Arya Income Tax Raid: In a shocking turn of events, popular South actor-producer Arya, widely known for his films in Tamil and Malayalam cinema, has hit headlines over the wrong reason. The 'Sarpatta Parambarai' actor has come under the IT scanner after the Income Tax department conducted a raid at the actor's Chennai house and restaurants, operating under the name 'Sea Shell', on Wednesday morning (today, June 18).

Tamil and Malayalam actor-producer Arya, widely known for his notable performances in films like 'Raja Rani' co-starring Nayanthara, 'Vettai', 'Pattiyal' and 'Arrambam' to name a few, has caught the attention after Income Tax officials conducted surprise raids at his house and restaurants located at various parts in Chennai.

According to Asianet Tamil, the officials informed that the raid took place in response to a tax evasion complaint against the actor.

As per reports, a raid, conducted by Income Tax officials from Kochi, is currently underway at Arya's residence on Pinni Road in Teynampet, Chennai, along with his Sea Shell restaurant in Anna Nagar. Apparently, the actor has hotels (Sea Shell) operating in various parts of Chennai, including Belachery, Kottivakam, Kilpaul, and Anna Nagar.

As mentioned by News18 Tamil, Arya already sold his Sea Shell restaurant shell to a Kerala-based businessman named Kunhi Moosa a couple of years back. It is being said that Arya's name came under scrutiny in connection with Kunhi Moosa's IT raid. For those unversed, Kunhi's properties were already under Income Tax scrutiny.

The actor's team is yet to react to the Income Tax raid.
