The film, headlined by Dhruv Vikram, has now reportedly grossed over ₹70 crore worldwide, according to the latest update shared by the makers.
A sports action drama, Bison Kaalamaadan has been written and directed by Mari Selvaraj, known for his socially rooted storytelling. The film was jointly produced by Sameer Nair, Deepak Segal, P.A. Ranjith, and Aditi Anand under the banners of Applause Entertainment and Neelam Studios. Distribution was handled by K. Senthil under Five Star Creations.
Bison Maintains Strong Box Office Presence Ahead Of Its OTT Premiere
The ensemble cast includes Pasupathy, Ameer, Lal, Anupama Parameswaran, Rajisha Vijayan, Azhagam Perumal, Aruvi Madhan, and Anurag Arora. The narrative follows the journey of a young man from a conflict-ridden background who chooses sports as his path toward redemption. Set against the backdrop of rural struggles and systemic challenges, the film explores themes of courage, identity, and resistance.
Behind the camera, the technical team featured cinematographer Ezhil Arasu K, editor Sakthi Thiru, and art director Kumar Gangappan. Nivas K. Prasanna composed, produced, and arranged the film's music, with lyrics written by Mari Selvaraj and Arivu. Dhilip Subbarayan handled the action choreography, while Sandy choreographed the dance sequences. Costume design was led by Aegan Ekambaram, and sound design was overseen by Suren G and Alagiakoothan.
Bison Kaalamaadan has received attention for its Kabaddi-based narrative and Mari Selvaraj's recurring exploration of caste oppression and violence.
