Dhanush Wins Big In Copyright Case Against Nayanthara: In the latest update, the Madras High Court dismissed Netflix's appeal to reject the copyright suit filed by Dhanush against Nayanthara in regard to her wedding documentary titled Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale.

Dhanush's production company, Wunderber Films Private Limited filed a petition requesting permission from the High Court to sue Los Gatos Production Services India LLP, a Mumbai-based company that handles Netflix India content.

For the unversed, Nayanthara penned a two-and-a-half-page open letter accusing Dhanush of his non-cooperation and unprofessional behaviour during the time of her wedding documentary's release on Netflix. She said that the actor-producer denied permission to use a 3-second clip from the BTS of 'Naanum Rowdy Dhaan,' which brought together Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan. Despite the couple trying to convince Dhanush to grant them an NOC, the actor didn't budge. However, the couple used more than 3 seconds of clippings from the super hit film which ended up leaving a dent to Dhanush as a producer.

Dhanush filed a lawsuit for the same demanding a compensation of Rs 10 Crore for Copyright infringement. After the public letter, support poured in for Nayanthara from fellow actresses in Tamil and Malayalam industries. However, Dhanush got an edge as a majority of them pointed fingers at Nayanthara for her alleged 'producer unfriendly' attitude. Many allege that it is a pure promotional and agenda-driven act from Nayanthara to generate buzz for her documentary release.
