Diesel OTT Release: Shanmugam Muthusamy's debut directorial, Diesel, made its way to theaters during the Diwali weekend of 2025, marking his entry into Tamil cinema with an action thriller centered on crime, trade, and the complex underbelly of the fuel black market. Backed by Third Eye Entertainment and SP Cinemas, the film features a large ensemble cast and an extensive technical crew across various departments.

Diesel centers on an illicit crude-oil network that originates decades earlier with the tapping of a government pipeline affecting several coastal villages. The story follows Vasu, who inherits and expands this covert operation while navigating conflicts involving local factions, law enforcement, and powerful industrial interests. As rival groups vie for control of the trade and political pressures intensify, Vasu is drawn into a series of confrontations that test his loyalties, judgement, and survival. Harish Kalyan plays the lead role, with Athulya Ravi appearing alongside him. Vinay Rai, Sai Kumar, Ananya, Karunaas, Kaali Venkat, Ramesh Thilak, and several others make up the extended supporting cast.

The film's production involved multiple departments working across action, design, and post-production. Cinematography was handled jointly by M. S. Prabhu and Richard M. Nathan, while San Lokesh was in charge of editing. The soundtrack and background score were composed by Dhibu Ninan Thomas. Action sequences were coordinated by Stunt Silva and Rajasekhar. Scarecrow served as the production designer.

Choreography contributions came from Shobi, Rajusundaram, and Sheriff, while Praveen Raja, Harsha Chalapalli, and Swapna worked on costume design. A wide technical team supported the film in various aspects, including sound, colour grading, visual effects, and publicity materials. The project also had an extensive direction team led by the director, with co-directors, associates, and assistants managing different stages of production.

Following its theatrical run, Diesel is set to arrive on streaming platforms, giving audiences access across different regions and languages. The film will be available from November 21, 2025, on Sunnxt in Tamil and Telugu, on Prime Video in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, and on Aha Tamil exclusively in Tamil. For viewers outside India, the film will stream on Simply South in Tamil.
