Dragon Box Office Collection: Dragon is a Tamil coming-of-age comedy-drama, written and directed by Ashwath Marimuthu. Backed by AGS Entertainment, the film features Pradeep in the lead role, alongside Anupama Parameswaran, Kayadu Lohar, and an impressive ensemble cast, including George Maryan, Indumathy Manikandan, K. S. Ravikumar, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, VJ Siddhu, and Harshath Khan. The film had its worldwide theatrical release on February 21, 2025.
According to film correspondent Rajasekar's post on X (formerly Twitter), Dragon has delivered a phenomenal opening weekend at the box office. The Tamil Nadu gross is estimated to be ₹25.5 crore+, while the global weekend collections have surpassed ₹52 crore+. This marks an exceptional start for a sophomore film by any Tamil actor. Furthermore, the advance bookings for Monday are already looking strong, indicating that Dragon is well on its way to becoming a box office winner.
Dragon Premise
Ragavan, a carefree young man grappling with academic struggles, resorts to fraud in his unyielding quest for wealth and power following a devastating breakup. However, as his web of deception grows, he becomes ensnared in grave danger. Can he escape the fallout, or is he destined to face the repercussions of his choices?
Dragon Cast and Crew
Dragon boasts a remarkable ensemble cast, headlined by Pradeep Ranganathan, K. S. Ravikumar, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Mysskin, with VJ Siddhu, Harshath Khan, Anupama Parameswaran, Kayadu Lohar, Mariam George, Indhumathy Manigandan, Thenappan, and others in key roles.
Written and directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, the film is produced by AGS Entertainment (P) Ltd, with Kalpathi S Aghoram, Kalpathi S Ganesh, and Kalpathi S Suresh backing the project. Archana Kalpathi served as the creative producer, while Aishwarya Kalpathi contributed as the associate creative producer.
The film features music by Leon James, cinematography by Niketh Bommi, and editing by Pradeep E. Ragav. V. Selva Kumar led production design, while action sequences were choreographed by Vicky and Dilip Subbarayan, and dance sequences by JD.
Ashwath Marimuthu collaborated with Pradeep Ranganathan on the story, also penning the screenplay and dialogues. The creative team included costume designers Dinesh Manoharan and Praveen Raja, sound designer Sync Cinema, sound mixer M. R. Rajakrishnan, and publicity designer Kabilan.
Ramesh Narayanan worked as co-director, with Vignesh Ravi as chief associate director and Meenakshi Sundar, Ajay Gurunathan, and Vichu as associate directors. The assistant director team comprised Prabhu Devan, Gowtham V, and Chanakkiyan R.
Post-production was handled by D'Note (CG) and Mango Post (DI), with Suresh Ravi as the colorist. The cinematography team included Hemanth Acharya as associate cinematographer/gaffer, Yogeshwar Rao Kotapati as first AC/focus puller, and assistant cinematographers Govind Rao P, Vijay, and Prasanna. Editing was supported by associate editor Selvakarthick Murugan and assistant editors Venkatesh and Kavimani.
Art direction was led by D. Dinesh Kumar and V. Mohan, with support from Sekar and Yuvi.
