Freedom First Review: M Sasikumar and his fans have all the reasons to be on cloud nine these days. After all, post the phenomenal success of Tourist Family earlier this year, M Sasikumar is here with the second release of 2025 and fans can't keep calm about it. We are talking about Freedom which is an action drama written and directed by Sathyasiva. Apart from M Sasikumar, the movie also features Lijomol Jose, Sudev Nair, Malavika Avinash, Bose Venkat, Mu Ramasamy, Saravanan and Ramesh Khanna.

Produced by Pandiyan Parasuraman, Freedom is based on a real-life incident that took place in '90s in Vellore special camp for Sri Lankan refugees. To note, Sasikumar and Lijomol will be seen playing the role of Sri Lankan refugees while Suden Nair is seen as the lead antagonist. Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, film business expert and trade analyst Ramesh Bala gave the movie a rating of 3.25 stars. Calling the film engaged, he tweeted, "1st Half shows ill-treatment.. 2nd half becomes thrilling prison-break.. @sasikumardir as always, very sincere performance.. @jose_lijomol is perfect @thesudevnair @DirectorBose @MalavikaBJP and several others provide good support. @Sathyasivadir has recorded a forgotten chapter in SL refugees life in TN. A sincere attempt".

Meanwhile, talking about Freedom, Sasikumar stated, "Freedom is inspired by a real life incident. It is the story of a jail break that happened in the year 1995. It is inspired by an incident in which refugees escaped from a prison in Vellore in Tamil Nadu. We have spoken about the pain and trauma of those refugees, who were incarcerated for no fault of theirs. I need to thank producer Pandi for making a film like this".
