Good Bad Ugly Vs. GOAT Opening Day Box Office: Amid sky-high expectations from Ajith's fans and Kollywood movie buffs, Ajith's latest dark comedy-action drama titled 'Good Bad Ugly' was released worldwide on April 10. Written and directed by Adhik Ravichandran after 'Mark Anthony', the movie featuring Trisha and a plethora of other talented actors marks the Tamil debut of Mythri Movie Makers. Good Bad Ugly hit the screens to mixed reactions with fans fully going gaga over the vintage Ajith's charisma on the big screen.

The movie definitely has several moments for die-hard fans of the actor who shed his title 'Thala' recently. He even called out to his fans to focus on their careers and lives. Good Bad Ugly movie is only good for the fans and ugly for the rest, opined critics, who were disappointed with the film's weak writing and treatment. The movie also marks the sixth collaboration between Ajith and Trisha.

Thalapathy Vijay's 68th film, his hyped collaboration with maverick filmmaker Venkat Prabhu is titled Greatest of All Time (GOAT). Vijay portrayed a dual role as a father and son in the film which made sensational figures at the box office despite mixed to negative reviews. The movie is a star-studded film with names like Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Jayaram, Sneha, Ajmal, Mohan, Yogi Babu, Parvathi Nair, Vaibhav and Premji Amaren among others playing key roles.

Good Bad Ugly Synopsis

AK (Ajith) is a former gangster who spent 18 years in prison. He is also known as Red Dragon. When his son Vihaan (Karthikeya Dev) turns 18, he wants his father to be with him but unfortunately, Vihaan is arrested in a drug case. When AK learns about his son's arrest, he goes back to his old ways to protect his son by embarking on a mission to take down the criminals behind his son's arrest. He then faces twin brothers Jammie and Johnny (Arjun Das). Why is AK a Red Dragon? How did he save his son and AK's flashback that forms the crux of the Good Bad Ugly.

Thalapathy Vijay's GOAT Opening Day Collection

On its opening day, Thalapathy Vijay's GOAT movie made Rs 43 Crore in net in India with Rs 38.3 Crore from Tamil, Rs 1.7 Crore from Hindi, and Rs 3 Crore from Telugu.

Good Bad Ugly Opening Day Collection

Ajith's film opened to massive hopes and expectations from fans which are amplified by the riveting theatrical trailer. Adhik Ravichandran's vision of showcasing Ajith in his vintage and best-of-the-best avatar excited the fans, who looked forward to a massive comeback from the actor. Adhik's previous film 'Mark Antony' was a big hit and their hopes had a reason thus.

However, as Good Bad Ugly premiered, the movie earned mixed reactions with critics commenting that it caters only to die-hard fans and has nothing that entices them.

The morning shows occupancy for Ajith's Good Bad Ugly movie is quite high- 73.14% and the movie is estimated to earn above Rs 12.56 Crore (by the time of this report) according to the Sacnilk website. The figures keep changing every two hours, however.

Funded by Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar of the Mythri Movie Makers, the movie's music and score are composed by GV Prakash Kumar. Abinandaham Ramanujam worked as the cinematographer and Vijay Velukutty worked as the editor. GM Sekhar is the head of Production Design. Supreme Sundar and Kaloian Vodenicharov worked as the stunt choreographers.
