Good Bad Ugly Vs Vidaamuyarchi Box Office Collection Day 1: Will Ajith Beat His Last Film's Opening Figures?
Good Bad Ugly Vs Vidaamuyarchi: Ajith has been hitting the screens back-to-back with action entertainers and this time, young and talented filmmaker Adhik Ravichandran has collaborated with the actor to showcase him in a glorious light. Titled 'Good Bad Ugly,' the movie which marks the actor's sixth collaboration with Trisha as the female lead was released worldwide on April 10 amid heavy expectations. In the movie that is the maiden Kollywood production of Telugu producers Mythri Movie Makers, Ajith was seen in his vintage best style, looks, and characterization.
The movie Good Bad Ugly met with mixed reactions from movie buffs and critics while fans thoroughly enjoyed the actor and his performance. The movie is loaded with stuff that makes Ajith's fans go crazy and is a paisa vasool entertainer for them.
The movie was simultaneously dubbed and released in Telugu to no promotions and expectedly went unnoticed with the debut show on the release day. While Good Bad Ugly advance bookings weren't as big as the makers and fans thought it would be, the movie is also very unlikely to achieve the opening day numbers of Thalapathy Vijay's 'Greatest of All Time (GOAT).' Will it at least beat Magizh Thirumeni's action-thriller Vidaamuyarchi?
Good Bad Ugly Synopsis

When AK learns about his son's arrest, he goes back to his old ways to protect his son by embarking on a mission to take down the criminals behind his son's arrest. He then faces twin brothers Jammie and Johnny (Arjun Das). Why is AK a Red Dragon? How did he save his son? What is AK's flashback forms the crux of Good Bad Ugly.
Vidaamuyarchi Opening Day Collections
The movie was also one of the hyped releases for Ajith, who wanted to deliver a blockbuster with Magizh Thirumeni. However, the movie shattered the expectations of fans with the premiere itself. On the release day, Ajith-Trisha's Vidaamuyarchi made about Rs 22 Crore in India, and Rs 21.5 Crore was made from only Tamil Nadu, speaking of the movie's disastrous outing across other parts and languages.
Vidaamuyarchi is a remake of a Hollywood film named Breakdown which was released in 1997 by Jonathan Mostow. It stars Arjun Sarja, Regina Cassandra, Arav, and Vijay Ramya along with other notable cast. Anirudh Ravichander is the film's music composer and it was made on a budget of Rs 200 Crore. Ajith took home a remuneration of Rs 120 Crore for Vidaamuyarchi, constituting more than half of the film's budget to his salary. Surprisingly, despite mixed reviews, Ajith's Vidaamuyarchi became the highest-grossing Tamil film of the year (So far) beating Pradeep Ranganathan's recent blockbuster Dragon.
