Dhanush's Directorial Idly Kadai Locks New Release Date: Dhanush's upcoming family drama titled Idly Kadai is back in the headlines for its new release date announcement. The movie, which marks Dhanush's 52nd film as an actor and his fourth directorial (DD4, D52) stars Nithya Menen and Shalini Pandey as the two female leads. The movie was supposed to hit the screens on April 10 along with Ajith Kumar's 'Good Bad Ugly' but was postponed due to incomplete filming. The makers also wanted to consciously avoid a clash at the box office.

Idly Kadai On October 1

The family drama in which Arun Vijay plays the antagonist will now be released worldwide on October 1. The movie's Telugu dubbing version has been named as 'Idly Kottu.' Given the hype and expectations, Dhanush, as a producer of the movie is taking all essential measures to ensure Idly Kadai's opening box office to become a remarkable milestone. He is cautiously planning the film as his recent directorial, 'NEEK' which is 'Jabilamma Neeku Antha Kopama' in Telugu backfired big time despite decent response.

The movie is set against a humble backdrop of family living in a village. The shooting was extensively carried out at Theni, Tamil Nadu, and Pollachi with a few scenes shot in Chennai. Arun Vijay is said to have charged Rs 8 Crore as remuneration for Idly Kadai, his highest so far.
