Jailer 2: Rajinikanth & Nelson Likely To Deliver The First Rs 1000 Crore For Kollywood; Fans Have This To Say

Will Jailer 2 Become Kollywood's First Rs 1000 Crore? Superstar Rajinikanth's 2023 industry hit Jailer, written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar was made on a budget of about Rs 220 Crore by Kalanithi Maran of the Sun Pictures banner. The Anirudh Ravichander's musical hit made a whopping Rs 650 Crore, becoming an all-time industry hit with the tag of second-highest grossing Tamil film. The makers of the film's sequel, Jailer 2, announced the beginning of filming on March 10, pushing the Thalaivar fans into celebrations.

In the announcement video, director Nelson and musician Anirudh were seen chilling at a house in Goa as they discuss cyclones. Meanwhile, there is a startling fight with a massive sound and the duo takes cover. Enters the Tiger Muthuvel Pandian in his trademark style. The teaser amplified the expectations around the film.

Rajinikanth To Bring Kollywood Its 1st Rs 1000 Crore BO

Thalaivar's fans refuse to believe anything other than the hope that Rajinikanth will be able to deliver the first Rs 1000 Crore grosser of Kollywood. They also exuded confidence that Coolie, written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj is the fist film of Thalaivar to achieve the feat, followed by Jailer 2.

While most of the characters in the first part have ended, a few characters with prominence are going to reprise their roles in the sequel, especially Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, and Ramya Krishna among others. It is to be seen what Nelson has in store for the fans of Thalaivar. More details of the new cast will be revealed in the coming updates. Nandamuri Balakrishna is also in talks for a cameo, reportedly.

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, Kannada veteran Shiva Rajkumar, Jackie Shroff, Nagendra Babu, and Kishore played pivotal cameos.

Bankrolled by Sun Pictures, the movie's cinematography was handled by Vijay Kartik Kannan and R. Nirmal worked as the editor. Anirudh Ravichander composed the film's entire sound and music, which is highly successful.
