Jailer 2 Release Date Buzz: Superstar Rajinikanth's one of the most exciting and awaited projects is Jailer 2, his second collaboration with the talented filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar. With Anirudh Ravichander also joining forces once again for the sequel, the movie is the biggest thing for the veteran and those who are involved in the project. Jailer 2 is under filming and there is an exhilarating update about the film's theatrical release that is making the fans happy.

Being made as a hyped and exciting sequel to the 2023 blockbuster, Kollywood's industry record-setting film 'Jailer', Jailer 2 announcement was made amid high anticipation and fanfare. Jailer 2 movie's principal photography began in March and the unit recently began the production with the important cast and crew taking part in the shooting schedule.

Jailer 2 & Kollywood's Rs 1000 Crore

With a budget of about Rs 220 Crore, Jailer made a worldwide gross of Rs 650 Crore and the sequel is expected to echo the same massive success with hopes for a Rs 1000 Crore grosser. The movie has got all the potential for earning Rs 1000 Crore worldwide and the makers now have to churn out an exciting sequel so that it touches the milestone with its content-driven narrative as the sky-high hype is already a bonus. In addition, superstar Rajinikanth's collaboration with visionary talent Lokesh Kanagaraj for Coolie movie is also expected to become one of the highest-grossers of the industry. Coolie movie is going to be released on August 14 worldwide.

Jailer 2 Cast & Crew

For now, the only cast known are Rajinikanth as 'Tiger' Muthuvel Pandian, a retired jailer, and Yogi Babu as Vimal, a taxi driver. Many of the characters from the first installment are going to reprise their roles but it is yet to be officially announced.

Written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the movie was funded by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures Banner. R Nirmal is working as the editor and Vijay Kartik Kannan is cranking the camera. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music and score.
