Jana Nayagan: The First Roar Release Date & Time Revealed; First Single Or Glimpse To Drop On Vijay's Birthday

Jana Nayagan Update: With actor Vijay's 51st birthday just around the corner, KVN Productions has announced a major update related to Jana Nayagan, the actor's upcoming and possibly final film before his full-fledged entry into politics. In a social media post on June 20, the makers revealed that something titled The First Roar will be unveiled at 12:00 AM on June 22, which coincides with Vijay's birthday.

While the post stopped short of confirming whether this will be a teaser or a musical track, industry buzz and the phrasing used-"his first roar is incoming"-strongly suggest that this is likely to be the film's first single. This announcement has quickly drawn attention, especially since there had been speculation that a teaser might be released to mark the occasion.

Along with the announcement of The First Roar release, the makers of Jana Nayagan also unveiled a new poster. The image features Vijay silhouetted against a striking sunset, standing with one fist raised in a crowd, evoking a sense of defiance and mass support-visually reinforcing the film's political action theme.

Vijay's Final Film Jana Nayagan Set for 2026 Release

Jana Nayagan, directed by H. Vinoth, is a Tamil political action thriller and is being positioned as Vijay's 69th and final film as an actor before shifting his focus to political life. In February 2024, Vijay had announced his decision to step into politics after completing two final acting commitments-The Greatest of All Time, which has already been released, and Jana Nayagan, which is currently in production. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on January 9, 2026.

Initially referred to as Thalapathy 69, the film was officially titled Jana Nayagan on Republic Day 2025. Filming began in early 2025, with principal photography taking place in Chennai and Payanoor. The film is backed by KVN Productions in their first Tamil venture and features music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan, and editing by Pradeep E. Ragav.

The film stars Vijay in the lead role, alongside a large ensemble cast including Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, Priyamani, Shruti Haasan, Mamitha Baiju, Monisha Blessy, and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. Other cast members include Teejay Arunasalam, Baba Bhaskar, Revathi, and Irfan Zaini.

Whether The First Roar turns out to be a musical track or a teaser remains to be seen, but the update has already sparked renewed interest among Vijay's fans and the industry. With less than two days to go, all eyes are now on June 22.
