Jana Nayagan Vs The RajaSaab North America Advance Booking: Vijay Movie Leads Over Prabhas' In Pre-Sales

Jana Nayagan Vs The RajaSaab Advance Booking: As the 2026 Pongal-Sankranti season approaches, two major South Indian star vehicles, Vijay's Jana Nayagan and Prabhas' The RajaSaab, are gearing up for a simultaneous global release on January 9. With both films targeting festival audiences across regions, early data from overseas markets indicates a competitive start, particularly in North America.

Jana Nayagan Vs The RajaSaab North America Advance Booking

According to advance booking figures shared by film industry tracker Christopher Kanagaraj, Jana Nayagan has taken an early lead in the region's pre-sales. Despite reportedly having fewer premiere show listings than its Telugu counterpart, the Vijay starrer has registered over USD 333,000 in North America premiere pre-sales. Meanwhile, The RajaSaab, led by Prabhas, has logged more than USD 300,000, with both numbers still climbing as bookings continue.

Vijay's Last Film Before Politics Draws Curiosity

Directed by H. Vinoth and backed by KVN Productions, Jana Nayagan marks a significant moment in Vijay's career. The actor is expected to shift his focus to full-time political work following this release, a factor that appears to have heightened interest among fans globally. The film features Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, and a large ensemble including Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Mamitha Baiju, Priyamani, and Narain.

The production brings together a substantial technical crew, with Anirudh Ravichander composing the music and Sathyan Sooryan handling cinematography. Pradeep E. Ragav serves as the editor, while action sequences are choreographed by Anl Arasu. The film is scheduled to release during the Pongal holiday window in Tamil Nadu and overseas Tamil diaspora markets.

Prabhas' The RajaSaab Also Registers Strong Festival Demand

On the Telugu side, Prabhas returns with The RajaSaab, a horror-comedy-fantasy directed by Maruthi. Produced by People Media Factory and IVY Entertainment, the film pairs the actor with Sanjay Dutt, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Malavika Mohanan, who makes her Telugu debut. Riddhi Kumar and Zarina Wahab are also part of the cast.

With music composed by Thaman S and visuals by cinematographer Karthik Palani, the film aims for a festival-friendly appeal. Like Jana Nayagan, it is slated for a January 9 worldwide release, coinciding with the Sankranti holidays that traditionally draw significant footfall in Telugu-speaking regions.

While Vijay's Jana Nayagan currently maintains a narrow lead in premiere pre-sales, both titles are expected to post stronger numbers as more shows are added and bookings expand in the lead-up to their release.
