Jyothika's Comments On South Industry Upset Fans: Actress Jyothika, Suriya's wife, became a subject of trolls after her 'fashionable' comments about the southern film industries went viral. The actress who is now accepting work in Bollywood, made objectionable remarks about the industry where she grew up, got married into, and enjoyed superstardom.

The 46-year-old actress shifted base to Mumbai, her hometown, along with her two children last year. Suriya had been shuttling between Mumbai and Chennai ever since. Jyothika, who sighted children's education, parents, and pursuing her dreams as the reasons behind their decision to move to Mumbai, was seen in notable films like Shaitaan, post her move.

In a recent interview with a Bollywood media, where she along with the other actresses spoke about their Netflix original series titled 'Dabba Cartel,' spoke distastefully about the southern film industries. Angry fans immediately started calling her out.

According to a report on Aakashavaani, an active cinema handle on X, Jyothika said, "Down South, a female lead actress role was all about dancing with the male protagonist and praising them. The change is coming now in Bollywood and elsewhere but in the South, it still goes on. After the initial 10 years of my career & when I was done acting with all the big stars, I consciously chose scripts that were not male protagonist-driven."

Angry and upset fans have reminded her of films that made her a fantastic actor and gave her a stardom. They named 'Chandramukhi, Sillun oru Kaadal, and Kushi' among others. They remarked, "It is a fashion to make such statements after going to Bollywood," "The reason all these so called actresses survived because of south industry and now passing comments on the same industry (sic)." and etc.
