Kaantha Advance Booking Open Now: Dulquer Salmaan And Rana Daggubati Film Gears Up For Release

Kaantha Pre-sales: Advance bookings for Kaantha, the upcoming Tamil period drama thriller featuring Dulquer Salmaan and Rana Daggubati, are now open across Tamil Nadu, the Telugu states, Kerala, the rest of India, and overseas markets. According to trade sources, early trends indicate a steady audience response as anticipation builds for the film's worldwide theatrical release on November 14, 2025.
Directed and co-written by Selvamani Selvaraj, Kaantha is a period crime drama set in 1950s Madras. While the film is loosely inspired by the rise and fall of M. K. Thyagaraja Bhagavathar, Dulquer Salmaan recently clarified in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that it is not a biopic but a fictional narrative influenced by certain real-life elements from that era.
Kaantha Storyline, Cast, and Crew
The story follows Ayya, a respected filmmaker in Tamil cinema, and his complex relationship with T. K. Mahadevan, an actor whose career flourishes under Ayya's guidance. Tensions arise when Mahadevan interferes in a women-centric project, reshaping it to suit his star persona. The creative conflict between the two men forms the emotional and narrative backbone of the film.
The cast includes Samuthirakani and Bhagyashri Borse in key roles alongside Dulquer Salmaan and Rana Daggubati. The film carries a U/A certification and runs for 2 hours and 43 minutes.
Kaantha is jointly produced by Dulquer Salmaan and Rana Daggubati under their respective banners, Wayfarer Films and Spirit Media. They are joined by producers Prashanth Potluri and Jom Varghese. The technical team includes Dani Sanchez Lopez as cinematographer and Llewellyn Anthony Gonsalvez as editor. Art direction is handled by Ramalingam, with music composed by Jhanu Chanthar and sound design by Allwin Rego and Sanjay Maurya.
The screenplay features additional contributions from Thamizh Prabha, who also worked on dialogues. Costumes are designed by Poojita Tadikonda, Archana Rao, and Harmann Kaur, while color grading is managed by Glen Denis Castinho. Visual effects are handled by Deccan Dreams. Publicity and marketing efforts are overseen by Pasuparthy Sona Raju, with Tamil and Telugu promotions managed by Suresh Chandra and Vamsi Sekhar, respectively.
Kaantha is positioned as one of the key theatrical releases of November, with its period setting and ensemble cast contributing to growing audience curiosity ahead of its release.
